  • Discuss new ablation technologies (PFA).

  • Recognize the burden of Hypertension.
  • Review the role of Renal Denervation in the treatment of hypertension.
  • Recognize situations where a hypercoagulability workup is rarely indicated.
  • Assess the need for long-term anticoagulation by evaluating the presence of cancer, thrombus, and provoked and unprovoked thrombotic events.
  • Describe at least two tools for assessing cardiac risk in a primary prevention patient.
  • Describe at least two non-statin medications to address cardiac risk.
  • Review interesting cases and cutting-edge treatments in cardiovascular medicine.
  • Discuss the pathophysiology and management principles of congenital heart disease.
  • Recognize congenital conditions that can present for the first time in adulthood.
  • Recognize the common sequelae of congenital heart disease that was repaired in childhood.
  • Evaluate the decision-making pathway for managing a STEMI patient from First Medical Contact (FMC) to the initiation of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) from the emergency department perspective.
  • Assess the decision-making pathway for managing a STEMI patient from First Medical Contact (FMC) to the initiation of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) from the interventional cardiology perspective.
